San Antonio’s all-time high school passing leader Ashton Dubose is eager to show what he can do at the next level.Dubose, along with twin brother Aaron Dubose and Brennan teammate Avron Carter, signed Wednesday to play college football at West Texas A&M, an NCAA Division II program located in Canyon that competes in the Lone Star Conference.
Ashton leaves Brennan with a city record 9,433 career passing yards in four varsity seasons. He was a full-time starter for three years and a part-time starter as a freshman. “ have been playing together since we were babies,” Aaron said. “And to continue to keep playing in college ball is a bonus for me.”
“For Avron to be with us also, we just want to continue to be able to do the same things we were doing at Brennan,” Aaron said. “We want to continue to win games and help turn around a program.” The Brennan trio is among five players from the area who signed with the Buffaloes on Wednesday. Madison offensive lineman Ethan Hart and Poth linebacker Matthew Bunn also inked with West Texas A&M. Both were also Express-News All-Area selections.
