A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for North Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth area through 6 a.m. Thursday. In addition, an Ice Storm Warning is in effect for areas from Denton to Fort Worth to Cleburne and points west. Freezing rain could bring up to a half inch of ice to that part of North Texas potentially causing damage to power lines and trees.
Freezing rain and sleet will fall on through Wednesday making travel very difficult across all of North Texas. Temperatures will remain below freezing into Thursday morning, followed by a warm up Thursday afternoon. Better weather returns late week with sunshine and warmer temperatures in the upper-50s to lower-60s by the weekend.
