Gusts up to 60 mph are expected Thursday in Southern California, followed by a small chance of rain and snow on Monday.

Another round of menacing wind is expected to whip through Southern California starting Wednesday night, Jan. 25, and cause more trouble than its predecessor.that also triggered a sandstorm in Indio.

“This one appears to be stronger. A little bit stronger wind gusts and a little more widespread,” National Weather Service meteorologist Philip Gonsalves said Wednesday.A high-wind warning was issued for the Inland Empire and interior Orange County for through 10 p.m. Thursday. The winds, which could make travel for high-profile vehicles difficult, are expected to blow from the northeast at 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 75 mph in the Inland foothills. The strongest and most widespread winds are expected Thursday morning throughThursday afternoon.

There was less certainty about when wind warnings would be in effect for Los Angeles County. Most likely, the weather service said, stronger winds will first be felt around 3 a.m. Thursday, in Malibu. Sunny skies with high temperatures in the 60s are forecast through Sunday, when there is a chance of a small amount of rain and snow moving in and staying through Monday. The snow level is expected to be at 4,500 feet on Sunday night and 6,000 feet on Monday.
